More and more we see symbols enter into the cultural vocabulary that require reading, deciphering, and understanding. Sophomore students in the Visual Communication Design program were asked to create icons that depicted a day in their life. These symbols were to highlight tasks and actions that uniquely identify 20 moments in their typical day. Filtered from a much larger set of icons, their remaining 20 were selected based on the criteria defining the behaviors of each student. One shared criteria was the consistency of the illustration in line weight, shading, and quality between the icons.
