We Are Open!

The galleries are now open for viewing! Currently on view are the MFA Works in Progress exhibition in the Lewandowski Student Gallery and the 30th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition in the Rutledge Gallery. Both exhibitions are open until August 24th. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Winthrop University Galleries will be closed from July 2 - August 10. Galleries will reopen on Monday August 13th!

Opening Reception & Awards Ceremony

Join us tonight from 6:30 - 8 p.m. for an opening reception and awards ceremony to celebrate our new exhibitions: the 29th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, M.F.A. Thesis Exhibition and Fine Arts Senior Exhibition. Free and open to the public. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. Located in Rutledge Gallery, Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery and Lewandowski Student Gallery.

Hovering: Feminist Perspectives Roundtable Discussion

Join us Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. in Dina's Place for a roundtable discussion to be held in conjunction with the faculty exhibition "Hovering" by Mark Hamilton. Photographer Mark Hamilton, art historian Dr. Karen Stock and professor of political science Dr. Jennifer Disney, will lead the discussion. This program contains mature subject matter and nudity. Cultural event, free and open to the public.

Opening Reception for Faculty Exhibitions Friday, Dec. 2

Opening Reception & Gallery Talk for "Eye to Eye" by Phil Moody & "Hovering" by Mark Hamilton. Reception 6:30 - 8 p.m. Gallery Talk 7 p.m. Rutledge Gallery and Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery. Join us this Friday night to celebrate the opening of these exciting exhibitions! Phil Moody, Mark Hamilton and contemporary photographer, art historian and curator, David Houston, will give a gallery talk at 7 p.m. during the opening reception. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served. The gallery talk is a certified cultural event, free and open to the public.

Closed for Install

The Rutledge Gallery and Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery will be closed for install beginning today. They will reopen on December 2 with new shows: Eye to Eye by Phil Moody and Hovering by Mark Hamilton.

Artist Talk and Gallery Walk-Through: Mario Marzan

Join us at 7 PM Thursday, October 27 in the Rutledge Gallery for a presentation from Mario Marzan, the artist behind the colorful exhibition "FLUX." Marzan's exhibition is currently on display in the Rutledge Gallery through November 11. Free, open to the public and qualifies as a cultural event for Winthrop students.

Artist Talk and Gallery Walk-Through: Charles Williams

Join us at 7 PM Thursday, October 20 in the Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery for a presentation from Charles Williams, the artist behind the exhibition "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See." Williams' exhibition is currently on display in the Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery through November 11. Free, open to the public and qualifies as a cultural event for Winthrop students.

Closing Reception: "Putting a Face on Syria" by Tina Manley

A closing reception for "Putting a Face on Syria" will be held in the Lewandowski Student Gallery on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. "Putting a Face on Syria" is an exhibition of Tina Manley's award-winning photographs of Syrian refugees from across the world. Manley traveled throughout Syria, Lebanon and Turkey, as well as many other countries, in order to document the current refugee crisis. Open to the public, light refreshments provided.
